A shopper leaves the Dress Barn at Metro Crossing on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. All 650 locations of the women's budget clothing chain are set to close.

Dressbarn announced plans to commence a ‘wind down’ of its retail operations Monday, including the eventual closure of its 650 stores, according to a release from the company.

Stores are conducting business as usual until further notice. Customers can continue to shop in-store and online and use the Dressbarn-branded credit cards for purchases, the release said.

Located at 3706 Metro Drive, the Council Bluffs location has not been notified of any changes regarding its store, according to an assistant manager at the store.

Plans for closing individual Dressbarn locations and closing sales will be shared during the "wind down" process, according to the release.

“During the wind down, we will continue to provide our customers with the same great experience both in-store and online, offering them even better deals and value. We will work to assist our associates through the transition and maintain existing relationship with our vendors, supplier and other key stakeholders through this process,” said Steven Taylor, chief financial officer, in a release.

There are no current changes to Dressbarn’s return, refund or gift card policies, the release said.

Dressbarn has nine other locations in Iowa.

"We will continue on and give great customer service to everyone. We don't have any information yet," said the assistant manager of Dressbarn at the Metro Crossing Drive location.
