Buttercup the cat’s markings are as unique as her personality.
Buttercup is a 3-year-old female domestic shorthair cat with a tortoiseshell fur pattern who is currently available for adoption at Midlands Humane Society. According Midlands staff, she arrived at the shelter “very” pregnant a few months ago. After birthing her litter and nursing them, her babies have all been adopted out and she is ready to find a home of her own. She is a beautiful, petite cat with a loving, curious personality. Her adoption fee is $75.
Speaking of kittens, just like every other spring and summer, the shelter is “swimming with kittens” and other cats, too, and this season is no different. Several new litters have made their way to the adoption floor this week. The kitten adoption fee is $120.
Kori Nelson, director of development and marketing at the shelter, said that brand new kittens born at or brought into the shelter are immediately placed in foster care to give them time to develop inside a home environment where it is easier for them to stay healthy. And with summer in full swing, it is definitely kitten season. Because of this, Nelson said the shelter is always looking for foster homes.
