Teresa Rains

Teresa Rains is a support professional in radiology at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She spent 15 years as a customer service representative at PayPal before being displaced during one of the company’s reorganizations.

Rather than letting this drag her down, Rains looked at it as an opportunity to do something more meaningful — something with purpose.

She thought about the bonds she formed with her father’s caregivers during the time he spent in the hospital, in rehab and in the nursing home and knew it was in this type of environment where she could make a difference.

Rains started in housekeeping and talks fondly about the time she was able to spend with patients — just talking and making them feel more at ease. She loves her new role in radiology and is quick to tell you, “It’s all about the patients — it’s always about the patients”. Teresa is a compassionate person and believes in treating people right and living each day to its fullest because you don’t know what life has in store for you.

She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 40 years and have three children and five grandchildren — and one on the way: “Life really couldn’t get much better.”
