Peggy Christ

Peggy Christ is one of many retired hospital employees who have returned to Jennie Edmundson to volunteer.

Christ worked at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital for 30 years as a Nurse Epidemiologist, overseeing Infection Control. As a nurse, she came to appreciate all the help the volunteers provided over the years, as well as their fundraising expertise.

“When I retired in 2008, I decided to volunteer at Jennie after viewing how helpful and needed were the giving people who staffed all the volunteer positions in the hospital.”

Christ started out volunteering in the Emergency Room and then moved on to Out-Patient Surgical Services where she volunteers three to four times a month. When Christ returned to Jennie, she returned as not just a volunteer but also as a leader.

She has served in several auxiliary vice president roles, overseeing family services, patient services and public relations before taking on her latest role as president of the Jennie Edmundson Auxiliary.

Christ and her husband John have been married 58 years and have four children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. When she’s not volunteering, Christ enjoys spending time in her garden, or reading and traveling.
