A Council Bluffs man accused of trying to kill his sister will stand trial on Aug. 6.
James Richard Augustine, 26, was arrested on March 11 after allegedly cutting his sister — a minor — with a knife. He is charged with attempted murder for the alleged cutting and assault on a police officer after officers said he spit on detectives while being interviewed. He also faces charges of first-degree burglary, robbery, willful injury, two counts of domestic assault and two counts of violating a no-contact order.
His trial was originally scheduled for May 21, then postponed until Tuesday, when it was rescheduled again.
