A Council Bluffs man being held on multiple counts of assaulting a police officer and a charge of voluntary absence from custody has been scheduled to have two trials — one on each of the charges.

Michael William Wickman, 32, will go to trial Tuesday on the absence from custody charge for failing to return to the men’s residential correctional facility after checking out to go job hunting.

He will have a second trial on July 18 for three felony counts of assault on a police officer.
