A fourth person has been arrested in connection with a January homicide in Council Bluffs.
Ryan McDonald, 25, was arrested Friday on a first-degree murder warrant by police in Glenwood. McDonald is being held in the Mills County Jail with no bail.
He and three others are accused of being involved in the slaying of 38-year-old Adam Angeroth. Angeroth last was seen alive Jan. 20 at his apartment at 35 N. First St. in Council Bluffs. His body wasn’t found until four days later.
Xavier Smith-Catchings, 16, was arrested March 5 and is being charged as an adult in the case. Liam Stec, 21, has been held at the Douglas County Jail on a Pottawattamie County murder warrant since January.
Nicholas Haner, 20, of Harlan, also faces a first-degree murder charge.
Potawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber said Friday that he doesn’t expect additional arrests, but further investigation could prove otherwise.
“I don’t know that we expected the fourth arrest,” he said. “The investigation leads where it leads.”
