A Council Bluffs man charged with domestic abuse assault and strangulation with bodily injury is scheduled to go to trial in August.
Billy F. Chapman, age not listed in the police report, is to be arraigned on July 8 and go to trial on Aug. 6, according to court records.
He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and mother of two of his children on May 20 and restricting her “air and blood flow,” reports stated.

Chapman was arrested on warrant on May 20, and a no-contact order was filed on May 22, court records state.
