Clara Eieleen Johannes
Clara Eieleen Johannes, was born March 14, 1934, in Council Bluffs, to Roy Wesley Sr. and Erma Eieleen (Hachmeister) Everhart. She was baptized into the Christian Faith at St. Pauls Lutheran church in Council Bluffs, May 2, 1943, as were her siblings, mother, aunt and uncle. She was accepted in the Lutheran Church through adult confirmation at Cross Lutheran Church in Omaha, Neb., on June 26, 1960. She was united in marriage to William Johannes on December 1, 1956, at Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Neb. She found her greatest joy in serving Her Lord through his church, especially on the Altar Guild, and as a member of the bell choir (The Ding-A-Lings), quilting, loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and being with her many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved step-father, Duane Dillehay; sister, Irma Paxton; and brother, Roy W. Everhart Jr, and their spouses.
Clara is survived by her loving husband, Bill Johannes of 62 years; 3 sons, Jim (Sue) of Elkhorn, Neb., Douglas (Deb) of Fort Calhoun, Neb., and Chuck (Linda) Fredricks-burg, of Va.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchild-ren; sister-in-law, Elaine Madsen; many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Funeral service, Tuesday, 10 a.m., also at church. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a luncheon also at church. Clara has requested that no flowers be given. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, music conservatory-bell choir or St. Pauls Early Childhood Center or the charity of your choice.
