Take a hike at Hitchcock Nature Center in Honey Creek, swim at the Council Bluffs YMCA, attend an open gym at In Motion Gymnastics or jump on a trampoline at The Hub

Connect with the culture of the Loess Hills on June 15 during the second Living Loess Tour Saturday of 2019. The featured stop for the June tour date is Hitchcock Nature Center.

Beginning Birding begins at Hitchcock Nature Center with Pheasants Forever biologist Nic Salick at 7:30 a.m.

This program is for beginning birders and backyard bird enthusiasts. Cost for this program is $10 per person, and it is open to participants of all ages.

Pre-registration is required, visit pottcoconservation.com. For those not interested in Beginning Birding, crafts, snacks and a birds eye view of the Loess Hills and Missouri River is held between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this event is held on the third Saturday of the month, May through October.

Each of the partnering businesses will be open. Past events have included tastings, guided hikes, art lessons, animal interactions and more.

  • Aug. 17 — Harrison County Historical Village and Iowa Welcome Center
  • Sept. 21 — Sawmill Hollow Family Farm
  • Oct. 19 — Iowana Farm & Harvest Studio

There will be an annual grand prize drawing for a gift basket valued at over $500.
