The weekend looks to be a warm one with the chance of rain tonight and Sunday.

Rainfall records continue to break during this soggy year, and as a result, the ongoing risk of flooding continues, along with worries about high river levels and road closures.

Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri had their wettest May on record, and Iowa had its fourth-wettest May, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information. The month was wet across the country, with the lower 48 states seeing their second-wettest May on record, the centers announced Thursday. Records date back 125 years.

The upcoming forecast according to the National Weather Service includes:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 85. Southeast wind around 6 mph.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers after 3 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 63. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. North wind 5 to 13 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 75.

Tuesday night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
