Dean O. Arnold, age 66, Council Bluffs, passed away on June 24, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Dean was born March 18, 1948, in Council Bluffs, to Dallas O. and Dora I. (Torneten) Arnold and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1966. Dean served his country in the National Guard and the Army for a total of 22 years. He worked as a painter for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the American Legion, NRA, and Fish and Game Club.

Dean is preceded in death by his father in 1963; mother in 1997; infant brother, Orville T. Arnold; and brother, Wayne D. Arnold.

Survivors include his wife, Roxanne, of Council Bluffs; son, Jason Arnold, of Omaha, Neb.; granddaughter, Stephanie Arce, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Lois Wirth, of Harlan, Iowa; brother, Arlyn Arnold and wife, Mildred, of Council Bluffs; step children, Dawn Cullison, of Council Bluffs, Jared Lambert, of Imogene, Iowa, Sarah and Emily Lambert, of Noble, Okla., Jillian Lambert, of Shenandoah, Iowa; 9 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Pastor Paul Masters, New Horizon Presbyterian Church, Officiant. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 2. Luncheon will follow at New Horizon Presbyterian Church. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southwest Iowa and New Horizon Presbyterian Church.
